Getting there…

By plane

When planning your trip, the main airports in the region are Bologna, Ancona and Perugia.

Bologna Airport: As the largest in the area, Bologna offers excellent connections, with flights arriving from many Dutch airports. While it’s the furthest from Montecarotto (about a 2-hour drive), it’s a great option for its wide range of flight options.

Ancona Airport: This is the closest airport to Montecarotto is Ancona. Ancona is serviced by Ryanair, with convenient flights departing from Weeze. While Weeze itself is a bit remote, it’s the one we use most often.

Perugia Airport: Another option to consider is Perugia, which has flights with Transavia departing from Rotterdam.

By car

You get to experience our yearly roadtrip to the region of Marche. While it’s about a 16-hour (accounting for stops) drive it’s a good way to travel around Italy if you’re planning to stay longer.

Not to mention your trunk will fit more wine than carry-on luggage 😉

To make the trip go faster, we made a little something to help you on your way: Italian Roadtrip Playlist.
